Case Study
Project Sypnosis
Wind Turbine Regional NSW
Details
Client : Divalls Earthmoving
Location : Southern Tablelands NSW
Plant & Equipment: Robotic Aqua Cutter,
Hammelman 500 HP Pump.
Overview
The project blueprint called for hydro demolition to tackle defective concrete from a wind turbine base in regional NSW. The power combo of robotics and hand lancing was the chosen strategy to reach the desired cut depth of 900mm. This technique not only ensures precise concrete demolition and removal but also safeguards the structural integrity of the necessary reinforced steel. The end game? A successful concrete reinstallation and restored structural capacity.
Challenges
Regional- remote location
Access to potable water
Sensitive environmental impacts
Protection of the pad bolts and reobar
Repurposing of water
OBJECTIVES
Drive Innovation – Combine robotic and hand lancing through cutting of outer face of pad with robot towards the inner section and then extend the robot beam towards the centre.
Improve Operational Efficiency – Streamline and automate processes to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
CONCLUSION
The integration of hand lancing and robotic hydro demolition by a single, cross-trained crew showcases operational efficiency and innovation.
This case study illustrates the effectiveness of transforming creative ideas into successful outcomes for the client and emphasizes the importance of a partnership committed to fostering growth and excellence.
